Institute of Technology Blanchardstown's Visit

Today, we had some very special visitors to the school - students from the Local Institute to play some literacy and numeracy games with us. We had lots of fun playing the games they had set up for us. Here are some photos from our morning!

Pancake Tuesday

We were very excited for Pancake Tuesday to come! We learned about the tradition of Pancake Tuesday and how it is celebrated around the world, before eating some delicious pancakes ourselves. Some of our favorite toppings are chocolate and strawberries, lemon and sugar and syrup!

As Lent is here, we decided that we would try to give something up - like chocolate, sweets and biscuits. Others decided to take something up - like being kinder to others. We are looking forward to learning more about the Easter story and getting ready to celebrate Easter in a few weeks :)

Valentine's Day Fun

We had a busy day today. First, we had a visit from the Sam Maguire cup!

Then, to celebrate Valentine's Day, we made beautiful Valentine's cards for our family. We had lots of fun making them!

Aistear Play

Aistear play is a very important part of our learning. Here are some pictures from our play time earlier today.

Frankie is making a shopping list before he goes to the supermarket.

 Aoife and Sophie are our shop keepers. They set the shop up, decide what the special offers will be and then take our payment for our items. 

Ieva is checking that she has everything on her shopping list before she goes to the till!

She forgot to buy dog food - lucky she has her shopping list!

The yellow table are playing with cars, planes and trucks.

The red table decided to have a tea party. Each person has a plate, cup and spoon to eat. On the menu today was pizza and chicken - looks delicious :)

The blue table are making shapes and prints in the sand. They even found some letters hidden in the sand.

It's Christmas!

A Visit from Santa!

We had a busy day today in room 3. This morning, we went to see first and second class performing 'Ralph the Reindeer'. We recognised some of our brothers and sisters performing on stage!

We had a very special visitor to the class after little break....Santa! He was so kind and we sang 'Santa Claus is coming to town' for him. He spoke with our Elf on the Shelf and then gave each of us a chocolate, Santa lolly.

We are looking forward to our Christmas concert on Thursday and have been practicing very hard. We hope to see you there :)
